Grandma’s Lemon Pie

The task assigned was to design a brochure giving instructions to go through the process.
I always loved going to my grandmother’s house over summer breaks as she would make the most delicious food with so much love. One dish that I remember is her Lemon Meringue Pie. The house would smell like sugar and fresh lemons, and I would curiously watch her go through her handwritten recipe. I wanted to capture this recipe and process in my brochure as a gift to her.

I painted the ingredients with watercolour on paper to capture this. The brochure is trifold so that one doesn’t need to go back and forth when making the pie.
Commercial recipes are very mechanical and have no warmth to them. This pie meant more than just a food item. It was made with love and the freshest ingredients from my Grandmother’s backyard.
It was a simple recipe, and she always everything that went in and never used a measuring cup. Her process involves throwing in and combining many things and somehow creating the most delicious pie. The ingredients are placed similarly in the layout as well to capture the energy in the kitchen.
